As usual, Mr. Chu had a brilliant idea – to spice up the wedding with an old school dance number by the bridal party. Mr. Chu hired one of his golfing buddies, a retired schoolteacher and professional poker player named Willie Wu, to teach us a dance routine. Here’s a video clip of the footwork:

Me, I have two left feet (I actually have a left foot and a right foot, but that’s an idiom), but if Mr. Chu believes in this, I’m always ready to follow in his footsteps (pun intended – LOL)!

(By the way, explain LOL to me – is it that difficult to type out “laugh out loud”? Or to have someone write a macro to spell out “laugh out loud” whenever I type LOL? I’ll suggest it to our IT department on Monday after the wedding planning is done.)

Web 2.0 and Weddings

Wow, had no idea that Romeo’s mother actually set up a blog for Romeo and Jenny’s wedding this Saturday. I suppose I would’ve found out sooner, but there wasn’t a Twitter feed for this. I better sign up for the RSS feed.

Mr. Chu (Romeo’s father, and my boss, mentor and inspiration) doesn’t believe in social media for promoting RLC Industries, so I haven’t really familiarized myself with new technology yet. But I’ll make sure to take a class in it when I go back for my MBA. I’m crossing my fingers that a recommendation letter from Mr. Chu will be more than enough to get me into Harvard or Stanford.

Oh wait, we’re supposed to be talking about Romeo and Jenny here. I don’t know what Jenny did for her bachelorette party, but all I can say is that we had a BLAST in Vegas last weekend. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? At least it’s not like “The Hangover” – we didn’t lose Romeo at any point – Premar (one of the groomsmen and a friend of Romeo’s from college) made sure to keep tabs on Romeo at all times. If Jenny (or worse yet, Mr. Chu, her father) is reading this, DON’T WORRY. While other groomsmen were, well, enjoying themselves with lap dances, Romeo was very good about behaving. Very hands off, barely looked at the strippers. It’s that level of devotion to Jenny that gives Mr. Chu full confidence in Romeo as a suitable husband for his daughter, and why I was able to recommend Romeo to Mr. Chu in the first place, despite Romeo’s resume being less impressive at first glance.

My son is getting married..!

My son Romeo is finally getting married on the 11th of July this year—next month! It has been hectic in our family. I told him, I’ll take care of everything but he insisted that he’s got it under control. Hmmm….like mother, like son. I suppose I worry about him too much that’s why I’m up this early. What mother wouldn’t worry about their unico hijo, huh?
